Blue sky songs is the debut collection of poems by Australian writer David Thomas. The four-part collection takes the reader on a dreamlike journey tracing moments of childhood innocence through to the euphoria of first love and the emotional unravelling of loss. Influenced by surrealist poets as well as the writings of the Sufi mystics, Thomas writes in a free-form poetic style that emphasises simplicity, symbolism and spirituality. Blue Sky Songs is a personal account about living with depression and discovering a pathway to self-awareness, gratitude and hope.
