This book is to discuss applied ethics (or social ethics). Ethics takes the subject of how to be a man. Applied ethics is to apply the ethical thoughts on specific life and social issues. With the theoretical starting point, firstly this book asked the questions like what morality was and what the standard of right and wrong was, and then a series of moral controversies were discussed deeply, including the examination for personal morality and the thoughts for the social system. Finally this book made deep self-examinations for the positive meaning of the traditional value system (especially the Confucian tradition) in modern society by looking back the nature of the moral controversies and combining essential issues of the moral value. Besides special articles, this book also includes some information bars in the form of special columns as the supplementary and helping readers understand the subjects.
