Birds

This selection consists of the easier and more obviously amusing part of the Birds strung together to form a continuous play. The Introduction gives background on the theatre and City Dionysia. The Greek text is accompanied by notes, synopses of omitted parts, full stage directions and help with interpretation. There are appendixes on principal metres and particles.
