Georgina Sophia Bailey is a determined young woman who is working towards making her mark in the world of finance. All is going according to plan both in her personal and professional life, where she can look forward to a glittering future. However, it all turns to ashes. She is caught up in a dreadful scandal, and the man she thought she could spend the rest of her life with turns his back on her and runs away to America. Her future appears to be in tatters, but she picks herself up and, with the help of her landladys disabled son, starts afresh.
