Being Wendy (In a world afraid to grow up)

1982 could be the end for Wendy T. Bell.

Blowing out the candles at her 50th LA birthday party, all she feels is betrayal - wondering if someone in the room is behind the threats that could bring her glamorous life as a best-selling author to an end, not to mention her engagement to a wealthy English Baron.

Recalling a tiny Midwest island touted in a tossed aside Christmas card from an old boarding school chum, Wendy decides to head to there, incognito. When blackmailing notes begin to show up under her door in her seclusion, she is terrified. Who found her and why are they bent on ruining her life?

Wishing she had never grown up to live a life filled with lies, Wendy wonders if it's too late to find genuine happiness, friendship, and love. Or do these things only exist on fairy-tale islands?
