Battery Technology Advancements in China

Lithium-ion battery technology is widely used in portable electronics products, such as cell phones, camcorders and portable computers. At present, this technology is gaining world-wide attention as a battery option for transportation applications, including electric vehicles, hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, fuel cell vehicles and electric bikes in Asia. The United States continues to lead in the research and development of lithium-ion technology. However, in Asia, countries like China are commercialising and producing this technology. This book examines battery technology advancements in China where there are over 120 companies involved in the production of lithium-ion battery technology.
