Asa's Gift

Two Russian cousins, Daniel and Asa Ruskin, recent immigrants to the United States in 1880 are traveling across the country in their quest for better life in San Francisco. They get caught in a conflict between two forces for the control of Lagrima, a silver mining town in northwestern Colorado. Daniel, only a teen, is given the responsibility of being a guardian to his older cousin Asa, a mute who communicates through drawing and sketching. Sudden, strange disappearances start to plague the town. The two cousins find themselves fighting for their lives along with the remaining inhabitants. Little does Daniel know that not only Asa is the key to their survival, but for the survival of mankind.
