Ang Bayan Sa Labas Ng Maynila (The Nation Beyond Manila)

This collection of essays draws from the field of literary studies with cross-disciplinary borrowings from anthropology and history to examine the literary texts of the Philippines beyond the cultural center of Manila. The author examines literature from the urban Cebuanos to the tribal Manobos in an attempt to present a microcosm of national culture and history.
