An Honorable Trade

Aiden Andrews lived a coward's life. Suffering constant abuse at the hands of brother-in-law, Aiden hides away from his family and life at home or at his job in a secluded tool rental department in an old hardware store. He can't fight back because his brother is a deputy with the local small-town police department. He won't fight back because he's afraid. Every day is exactly the same until he's visited by a man who offers to take care of Aiden's bully problem in exchange for a simple favor. Aiden thinks that at worst it's a ruse by his brother-in-law and he'll just get beat up for accepting the deal. At best the man will come through on his offer and his brother-in-law will receive a beating and finally leave Aiden and his sister alone. A week later his brother-in-law is dead, and Aiden finds himself on the wrong side of a sinister deal that he can't and won't fulfill: He needs to murder a stranger. The group that killed his brother-in-law gives him a choice: Complete his end of the contract or be hunted down and killed. With a week to decide. With his back against the wall he tracks down the stranger, but time runs out. Now Aiden is on the run for his life and he's discovering that the group has a reach beyond anything he could have imagined. From store clerks to soccer moms, everyone he runs into is a potential assassin. From New York to Yosemite there's nowhere he can hide, and the noose is tightening every day he survives. Along the way he finds love, heartbreak, and possibly a way out of the nightmare that has become his life.
