Nightly the audience watches the stage mystery being solved One night, unseen by them, a real murder is taking place.

There are backstage frictions between the actors and jealousy, but no-one expects that life, or death, will come to imitate art.

Most of them had the opportunity. Every one of them had access to the means. Who had the motive?

The 'show within a book' and the real murder make this a double who-done-it.
