Melchizedek is the English notation of Melchizedek , the king of Salem in the novel, who advises the protagonist Santiago not to settle for what is given but to embark on an adventure to achieve his personal legend. alchedek combines the two words Alchemist and Melchizedek to convey the meaning of believing in dreams and embarking on an adventure to realize them without settling.
