Adventures of Captain Cutie Pie and Deputy Boo

The first book in the series has our cat and bird, Bubba and Boo, respectively, exploring their new neighborhood shortly after moving to Marshall Township. They overhear a story about a beaver (a true story that we, the authors, heard) and become curious to find and meet this beaver. As they search, they meet many new friends along the way, all of which are real animals that live in and around Marshall Township. These animals include a groundhog, a bunny rabbit, goats, and a great blue heron. When Bubba and Boo finally meet the beaver, whose name is Matilda, Bubba and Boo ask for help from their new friends as they assist Matilda with a problem she has not been able to manage on her own. Grateful for Bubba and Boos leadership in solving her problem, Matilda nicknames Bubba and Boo Captain Cutie Pie and Deputy Boo. The neighborhood friends agree these are fitting nicknames for our heroes.
