Abolition's Verse: The Liberator Poems of

Caroline "Carrie" Bacon was a teacher and poet from Barre, Ma. She was also a friend of William Lloyd Garrison. The poetry in this book, published in Garrison's Liberator, includes many poems with abolitionist themes, including verse written at the time that anti-slavery historical events were occurring. Thus her poetry is an essential window into the anti-slavery movement.
