Four years hasn't mellowed the nature of Guardian Master Randolph. If anything, their relationship has grown more strained. Desmond, Jason Aurelius' dear friend, tries to intervene, but things only become more hostile. Guardian Master Raymond is sent to another Protectorate for the day where their Supreme Guardian is dying. Jason Aurelius is promoted to Guardian Master and sits in proxy in the Second Chair. Events in Protectorate turn deadly. A conspiracy rears its ugly head as members are murdered. The first being someone close to Jason Aurelius. But there is another presence - a little green chameleon named Herbert makes himself known to anyone with evil intent for his Healer. And that's anyone!
