A Study on a Solar Photovoltaic Driven Irrigation System in Ethiopia

The demand for electricity is increasing throughout the world, which results in higher energy cost and additional greenhouse gas emissions. The world is facing energy crisis and critical environmental issues such as the greenhouse effect, global warming and pollution. In order to limit and reduce the environmental degradation, the encouragement of the development of renewable energies powered system and green technologies are necessary. Solar, wind, biomass, hydro and all the various renewable sources of energy are not cause any environmental pollution. Among all these, solar is one of the most abundant sources of energy.
