This study details the on site inspection and analysis of a running indigenous manufacturer and exporter in the highly competitive capacitor industry in S. India.

Since the liberalisation of the Indian Economy in the 1990's many scenarios have changed. The easy availability of cheap imports, takeovers, mergers, legislation have altered the scenario.

This particular industrial unit was a pioneer in the industry starting in 1972. The fact that it has withstood market forces and has survived for several decades is due to various factors. The study atempts to parametrise various business parameters, supply chain parameters, and give numbers to otherwise notional and heuristic concepts.

Shortly after the study was completed the COVID Crisis hit India and the world. The survival tactics used by the industrial unit studied are crucial for entrepreneurs.and other strtups.
