A Self-Help Guide for Understanding Cancer

Cancer incidence is rising throughout the world. With ageing of the world population, cancer is going to be a bigger problem than ever. Though the advances in modern cancer medicine have been staggering, a lot of misconceptions are still there, and so is the lack of awareness of not only the ever changing landscape of cancer treatment but also of preventive and screening measures. As a practicing medical oncologist, I have seen many aspects of these problems. So in this book I have tried to equip the reader with insights into cancer origins, genetics, etiology, preventive and screening measures, diagnostics, therapeutics, palliative care and the barriers to proper oncological management. Knowledge is power and we have to muster as much power as possible to win the war against cancer.
