A Piece of Me

The following is a series of poems along with my story that is written by me. The poems are based on my personal experiences and feelings. As I go through life battling this illness, I experience a broad range of emotions every so often. I chose to reveal my emotions to the world not only to give you a taste of my deepest thoughts and feelings but also to reveal what others similar to me may experience while battling this illness or any illness. The life of a person with Lupus isn't easy. I've been battling with this part of my life for over 25 years now and it's all because of the complication of this illness that I experience so many complex emotions. After reading this, I hope that you not only appreciate your life a little bit more, but also appreciate the life of others surrounding you.
