A Modest Proposal

A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift is the best known example of satire in the history of world literature. In this pamphlet Swift proposes that poor Catholic families in Ireland should fatten their children and then sell them as meat to rich Protestant landowners. In addition to the original title, this edition contains a biography of Swift and a selected bibliography of his works.
