He began training for what would become a thirty-year career as a building official, rebuilt his finances from the ashes, and met and married the woman who became a kindred spirit. During the first sixteen years of his recovery, Oliver carried the AA and NA messages of hope to area prisons in cooperation with their Addiction Services Programs.Oliver later turned to writing down his thoughts in poems and essays-in cathartic scribblings that he never imagined he might one day share with another living person, let alone have those writings published in a book.The author wishes that every single person dealing with addiction or alcoholism finds a way out of that darkness and steps into the light of sobriety.
