In this volume, Yuval Gadot presents the most complete picture of Jerusalem's history for scholars and students interested in the city's role as a royal seat and a religious center from its foundation until its destruction by the Babylonians. Gadot examines and analyzes the material remains discovered during more than one hundred years of excavations of Jerusalem. The book defines six pivotal periods of the site's development and correlates those with historical texts, including the Hebrew Bible.
