A Grain of Salt

At fifteen Dub looses his mother, the orphaned young man, sets out in the middle of the night for a new beginning. At nineteen, he meets and falls in love with Ellie, the daughter of an Arkansas farmer. Together they set out for the Indian Territory. A hard life for man, woman and child, made even more difficult when tragedy strikes. Dub unable to face the reality of death, leaves his three small children to fend for themselves. Ester, the oldest daughter now alone in the middle of Indian Territory, becomes the mom, dad, care taker, and provider for her two younger sisters.
