5 in Five

Five houses, over five years, in five countries. Over the last five years, Singapore-based architect Ernesto Bedmar has been travelling to Thailand, India, Indonesia, Singapore and New Zealand. This gave him the opportunity to learn about the diversity of the geographical and cultural background of these five countries and to explore new ideas, forms and perceptions. In every one of these places, he built a house for different people and with different customs. The five houses are all presented here, showing the extensive design process, details and images in each case. This is a study of five dramatic architectural projects in five divergent locations across South Asia and the Pacific, united by the touch of a single designer. It celebrates the remarkable work of architect Ernesto Bedmar, of the Singapore-based design company BEDMar & SHi.
