38 at Estelle: Seeing the Unseen like Jesus

This book highlights the author's personal experience of seeing the effects of human suffering, loss, and brokenness from a very real, close, and visible place at Estelle, one of Texas's largest state prisons. As a Christian minister for over fifteen years, Dr. Levi has witnessed many hearts' struggles at various life stages. Yet nothing had prepared him for the raw, intense, and rough fight for the human soul inside the prison and its dark effects in the community. From these places of darkness emerge the stories of some touched, healed, and transformed because of an encounter with Jesus, the one seeing the unseen, learned, asked, and changed life, touched and redeemed a community, and healed the world when He met the man who lay paralyzed for thirty-eight long years. This ancient scripture unfolds the fears, selfishness, and injustice surrounding our life within and without and invites us to live a life differently.
