You Think You Can't See Me is a sequel to Obscure Felicity and Obscure as Ever, the first two in the series. Like its predecessors, this philosophical work explores the intricate personalities, relationships, circumstances, and motivations binding a small group of individuals living and working in a suburban city. Some of these people, including two young children, have been brain-boosted through cosmic sunglasses, resulting in a well of infinite intelligence that the adult members of the group refer to as the Universal Mind. Now that insightful detective Frank and fashionista Felicity, who can literally smell evil, have helped dismantle a deadly drug ring, their lives settle down - for a while. Neither realizes that the other owns a pair of the late optical genius Vincent's cosmic sunglasses, through the BAM! powers they've received from the glasses that led them to save their city. During that process, a toddler, Jesse, also received a BAM! while playing with Felicity's glasses. In the following years, both Felicity's husband David and Brenda's boyfriend Jim have BAM! experiences of their own after borrowing Felicity's sunglasses (which were originally Brenda's). More significantly, Felicity and David's daughter, Renee, inherits formidable powers from her mother's frequent use of the sunglasses during her pregnancy. After Felicity's sunglasses are stolen and six-year-old Jesse is kidnapped by a psychopath, they have to depend on Frank's dogged detective skills and little Renee's telepathic abilities to save Jessebefore he dies of neglect and despair.
