You Never Really Lose

You Never Really Lose is based on Karah's experiences as a survivor of sexual violence, social worker, and volunteer in her community. Her poems fall under three categories: "Surviving Sexual Violence", "Life & Grief", and "Social Work & Advocacy". Her poems tackle social problems including poverty, sexual violence, substance use disorders, and loneliness.

Karah seeks to remind readers of their inherent worth and personal ability to heal and grow from life's most difficult circumstances. You are invited to leave your shame and burdens at the door and walk into a home of self-compassion and empathy, with the hope that you will feel empowered to be your authentic self in your relationships with others.
