This book includes the memoirs of Ambassador Mervat Tallawy, the first woman in the Egyptian diplomatic corps to attain the title and rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (1987). It covers her work in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1962-1997), her memoirs during her leadership of the Egyptian delegation in the multilateral negotiations on regional economic cooperation, and her time as Egypt's ambassador to Austria (1991-1993), as well as to Japan.
