While I Was Watching The Sun

According to many traditions, the East is the direction from that which salvation comes. The son or the sun (depending on who and what you believe) is known to be a savior of sorts. For Sharice the sun that she watches works in the same fashion. This sun not only brings her flowers, but it also gives her strength to rise. And while the story of falling and rising in the name of salvation may be historically familiar to all of us, for Sharice it is both familiar and personal. And Black. And Loving. And Woman. It is everything that you expect it to be and more. And maybe most importantly, it is here for all of us to take in so that we can see Sharice more clearly.
