What is Intelligence?: Pathways to Synthetic Intelligence

This work is my attempt to save AI research from impending doom and thus prevent another AI winter. The current success of DeepLearning based methods has caused researchers to narrow their perspectives and vision, thus not exploring for more efficient alternatives.This is a kind of local minima in the landscape of possibilities and if the tide is not stemmed in time, the current AI bubble will burst, leading to disappointed investors and thus, another AI winter.In the book, I talk about alternative pathways towards achieving the synthetic intelligence that we all dream of and even suggest ways of improving our current DeepLearning methods.Strong Artificial Intelligence is possible but when it will happen depends on the choices humanity and most especially AI researchers make. We can either stall till we suck current methods dry or we can expand our perspective and seek other pathways, some of which might be much better than what we currently have.
