In this volume, we focus on the rich vibrant Chicago scene, with its local entertainers such as Jelly Roll Morton, Ada Bricktop Smith, the Panama Trio (with Florence Mills), Alberta Hunter and the likes. We focus on a set of dances that continued to be popular in the latter years of the 1910s, like the Slow Drag and the Shimmy.
