Voice and Voice: An Autobiography for Re-humanization is more than just a collection of short stories about my life, faith, and sexuality. "Re-humanization" opposes dehumanization, opening our eyes to the monstrous things we do when we judge and mistreat others who are different from ourselves. We are all human, regardless, and each of us has an amazing story to tell. Here's an excerpt: "My blood relative forfeited her right to be part of my circle of trust when she vilified me and told fellow church members that I beat my wife because I really wanted a man." The accusation was false, of course, and it set me on a lifelong journey of healing, learning, truth, and self-acceptance.
