After the death of her father, Rodrigo Gonz lez, in the 1985 earthquake, six-year-old Amanda Lalena Escalante boarded a plane bound for Mexico City with her mother, opening this autobiographical narration in which Amanda shares her life, at times piercing and painful, with profound intimacy and honesty.
