Joyce A. Johannesen was born and raised in a Norwegian neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY. She was unwanted. Not unplanned, but unwanted. That trauma plagued her for many years. Turning to her faith and belief in the power of the gospel to change lives, she learned to navigate the twin rivers of joy and sorrow through the grace of God.
