Enaustic is a 2000 year old painting medium used by the Romans, Greeks and the Fayum Egyptians. This book is an over the artist shoulder as the piece is being created. This encaustic portrait is of Turid Spildo, painter and the head of the Nerdrum School of Painting in Norway. Turid is the feminine God figure of the cosmos in this work.
