True Nature

This volume presents an updated and interactionist theory of sexual attraction, in which biologically based erotic processing biases are continually exploited or challenged by social and cultural conditions. From this perspective, social orientation is viewed as a process rather than an outcome. The author takes an interdisciplinary approach that draws upon data from anthropology, sociology, gender studies, social constructionism, behavioural and developmental psychology, evolutionary biology, genetics, endocrinology and cognitive functioning to support his theory.
