Transformational Stories

These oral histories tell of transformative experiences which led persons to become advocates and practitioners for reform of the mental health system. They include psychiatric survivors and professionals, many of whom have been or are leaders in the movement. Many of these stories are a miracle of survival, but they show the path to true healing -- how, despite fierce resistance, persons found their voice and identity. Pioneered by those who faced extreme situations and wounding, the way to deep healing can be found in lived lifes.
