Two sisters. Two destinies. Jealousy, love and rivalry in Tromsø, 1927. Johanna Abrahamsen and her two daughters are living life on the sunny side, while her husband who is captain of a big ship is away most of the year. Everybody is looking forward to his expected return home, but things don't all turn out as expected. Friendship and family ties are put to the test. Katrine and Kornelia are as unlike as two sisters can be. One of them charms everybody, while the other feels herself overlooked and is plagued with jealousy.
