“To Set the Darkness Echoing”

Illustrating the extraordinary creativity of Irish writers in the second half of the twentieth century, this exhibition catalogue includes books, manuscripts, letters, and art by Samuel Beckett, Seamus Heaney, Brian Moore, Louis MacNeice, Thomas Kinsella, Medbh McGuckian, Paul Muldoon, Edna O’Brien, Brian Friel, J. P. Donleavy, Michael Longley, and many others. An introduction by Ronald Schuchard is followed by descriptions of the exhibited items, including such publications as The Starlit Eye, Gorgon, Death of a Naturalist, and Amongst Women.
