After the sack of Amstairis, the rightful heir to the throne must be protected and hidden away from the conquering king. After the conquering of Amstairis, several of Prince Jasper's inner circle now find themselves fugitives, including Jasper's wife. When it's discovered that Amelia Ravencrest is pregnant, everyone rallies around to get her somewhere safe. King Braydon Chadwick, on the other hand, has a different plan.
