The first mystery is always if there is a mystery at all. A grieving widow, an antique dealer with weird friends, and a documentary photographer turned amateur detective each narrate their story where the truth doesn't set you free. These three stories present fictional first-person accounts by movie maker and media theorist Michael Betancourt that take the familiar conventions of pulp fiction and use them as spring-boards for stories of exploration and discovery where what's really going on and what seems to happen may not be the same thing at all.
