Following a failed suicide, Duncan Ryder is given a singular opportunity to serve as the assistant to the world's first time traveler. Elsewhere, a custodian tasked with cleaning up mutilated oranges in an underground facility is forcibly pulled into the past. When the two meet, they embark on intersecting journeys which lead them together into a symbiotic destiny.
