Exploring issues spanning modern feminism, identity and class to neo-colonialism, exploitation and representation. Their Father's Sins will paint a portrait of the modern-day continent and how it is still being shaped by Britain and other former colonial powers, who in turn are in denial about the true horrors of their legacies.

The book will highlight three real life stories who illustrate different relationships to the continent and its rich history. Primah, a human rights lawyer in Uganda, pursues a case against an American missionary alleged to have killed children while running an unlicensed health facility; the case sends shockwaves across the world.

Sonijah, an American descendent of slaves, leaves the US after the brutal murder of George Floyd to live in Ghana; a country positioning itself as a new home for the global Black diaspora.

Yemisi, a British-Nigerian journalist moves to Lagos hoping to change the world around her but struggles when she finds herself part of the machine she sought to challenge. Each story asks uncomfortable questions, demanding nuanced and complex answers, creating a truly illuminating read.
