The Women of Holy Week

The Women of Holy Week offers a refreshing, versatile alternative for Lenten study groups or personal reflection. In this non-denominational, non-Biblical book, 24 women - friends and relatives of Jesus, as well as "strangers" such as Pilate's wife, the woman at the well, and the mother who packed the loaves and fishes - share their thoughts in their own voices on the day after Good Friday. Some of these women are not described in Scripture, but all of them have a story to tell. Each woman adds a detail that illuminates the meaning of Jesus' life on earth, and each one offers inspiration as she shares her deepest feelings and insights. Reflection questions that follow each narrative can be used for private meditation, journaling, or group discussion. Also included are suggestions for using the readings as dramatic presentations.
