When director Bradley Taylor arrives in Charleston to film a documentary on Edgar Allan Poe, murder is the last thing on his mind.

As the Police Department investigates the discovery of a college literature professor's brutalized corpse, found dumped in the undergrowth of the Unitarian Church Cemetery, it becomes immediately apparent that the documentary and the murder are linked.

Now, with a team of killers on the loose and the film's remaining literary experts missing.

Detective Shelby James and his partner, Sophie Laroche, must race against the clock to prevent even more murder in the Holy City. In a detective story worthy of Poe, they soon realize that the famed literary genius may have left one last clue from beyond the grave.
