The Ukrainian Modernist Poems

The Ukrainian Modernist Poems is a restorative edition of an anthology of modernist poetry spearheaded by the émigré poet Bohdan Boychuk (1927-2017) and co-translated with a group of renowned American poets including Stanley Kunitz and Daniel Halpern. Planned and executed chiefly in the 1970s and 1980s, this anthology presents energizing English renditions of poems that showcase modernist traditions in Ukrainian literature from 1917 through the 1970s. Drawing on extensive archival research in multiple special collections, Ostap Kin reconstructed this anthology addressing the ever-urgent question of what constitutes Ukrainian modernism.
