The two sheikhs

This is a brief hadith about the two sheikhs: Abu Bakr and Omar, may God have mercy on them, and I do not think that there will be anything new in it that I have not previously seen, for how much the ancients and moderns have written about them! And how much orientalists wrote about them as well! These and these diligently researched and investigated the means of research and investigation available to them, and these and these said everything that could be said about the two sheikhs. If I had obeyed what I knew of that, I would not have dictated this hadith, which is about to be repeated, but I find myself out of love for them and righteousness towards them, which tempts me to participate in talking about them, and you have seen me speaking about the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in more than one place, and I spoke about Uthman and Ali, may God have mercy on them.
