JOHN BUCHAN (1875–1940) was a Scottish novelist, historian, and politician, best known for his adventure and espionage fiction. In addition to his literary career, he served as Governor General of Canada from 1935 until his death, and was celebrated for his intellect, public service, and enduring contribution to popular fiction.
