An airborne quarry's Edgewalker Priest dies. Three would-be replacements have come and gone. Next up is Arosd , a strong-willed engineer-prodigy who serves the sensitives who speak across a telepathic network. Flown in from a remote forrest by the world's most famous flyer, she seeks an open door to better understand her community. She meets psychic walls instead. and a dream-time warning of war from her long-gone mentor, Seijan. This airland's already endured numerous pirate raids, but now they're about to drift over a country where old scores wait to be settled. Ultimately, Arosd must open minds, face down her project's dictatorial boss and choose a crucial path, both for herself and her people.
