The Story of E.H.Shepard

A unique insight into the work of the illustrator of Winnie the Pooh. Ernest Shepard was born in 1879 and died in 1976. His work ranged from illustrations recording his Victorian childhood to encompassing the events of both the Great War and the Second World War, and included regular contributions to Punch and, of course, his illustrations for 'Winnie the Pooh' and 'The Wind in the Willows' which led to his recognition as one of the foremost illustrators of children's books this century.
