The Sting of Queens

In 1955, four men robbed the 59-01 Roosevelt Avenue location of a bank branch in Woodside, Queens. It would become one of the most sensational crimes that ever happened in the Borough. The suspects had ties to the Hell's Kitchen Irish mob, the Mafia, and the notorious hitman, Elmer Francis Burke aka "Trigger" Burke. The bank robbers also had ties to multiple gangsters who were veterans of the Second World War. Did that conflict and Commando type training have an influence on their criminal activities? This book explores that question as well as what became of the bank robbers and the loot.
